On Boipeba the tide sets the schedule. Before booking any trip, check the tide table (the usual reference is Morro de São Paulo / the nearest port) and ask your boatman when the pools will be at their best.
Round-the-island boat trip
The classic: a speedboat loop around Boipeba, usually stopping at the Moreré pools, Bainema/Castelhanos, Cova da Onça/São Sebastião and the mangroves. Skippers adjust the order to reach the pools at the lowest tide.
DURATION Full day
Prices vary by season and operator — ask at the pier and compare.
Moreré natural pools
A short boat ride from Moreré (or part of the island tour) out to the reefs. Snorkelling in shallow, clear water.
DURATION 2–3 h around low tide
Bring your own mask if you have one.
Mangroves and the Rio do Inferno
Canoe trips through the mangroves, some at sunset; visitors report glowing bioluminescent plankton on dark nights.
